Color stimulation

In the physical world, the light is major nutrient, which feeds the evolution of all life. Medical science has shown that light has a profound stimulatory and regulatory effect on all of the body's vital functions and in visible light spectrum there is natural tool for healing. So, light is responsible for turning on the brain and the body. Light’s rays enter the body through the eyes and skin that generate electrical impulses and magnetic currents that are prime activators of the biochemical and hormonal processes in the human body.

The use of color and light for healing purposes goes back at least to the ancient Egyptians, if not earlier civilizations. In some healing temples, sunlight passed through glass or quartz prisms in the ceiling to bathe patients on tables with the appropriate healing rays.

Light affects the brain and the body through the eyes. Our eyes charge and energize our brain and nervous system. The light coming in through the eyes can augment the function of the nervous system and the endocrine system and put the body into balance. Colored light also has a unique capacity to penetrate the deeper layers of consciousness and uncover buried emotional conflicts that are at the root of physical symptoms.

In 1989, another researcher, D.J. Anderson, used photic stimulation using red LED goggles to treat seven sufferers of migraine headaches--none of whom had been able to relieve their migraines with drug treatments. He found that out of 50 migraines noted, 49 were rated by subjects as being "helped," and 36 sttopped by the photic stimulation. Significantly, brighter lights were found to be more effective.

Further evidence of the potential therapeutic value of photic stimulation has come from researcher Jill Ammon-Wexler, Ph.D., of the Innerspace Biofeedback and Therapy Center in Los Gatos, CA, using a device that uses a flickering light stimulus. The device, called a Lumatron, uses a strobe light with color filters to provide rhythmic photic stimulation in variable frequencies and in selected wavelength or color bands [MEGABRAIN REPORT will devote a full-length article to this device in a future issue].
